SPI Activities specializes in golf cart rentals that help visitors explore South Padre Island at their own pace. The real standout here is the customer service, particularly from staff members like Perla and Anna who consistently go above and beyond. Multiple reviewers mention how helpful and patient they are with questions, and there's even a story about Perla coming in after hours to arrange a replacement cart and handle towing. That kind of personal attention really makes a difference when you're on vacation. The golf carts themselves get mixed feedback. Most renters have smooth experiences with easy online booking and well-maintained vehicles. However, a couple of visitors ran into mechanical issues where their carts broke down during rental. While replacements were provided, it's worth noting these occasional hiccups. The positive experiences far outnumber the negative ones though, with families and groups consistently praising how fun and convenient the carts made their island adventures. The combination of reasonable rates and genuinely helpful service seems to keep people coming back.
Although I went during the cold weather it was still a pretty good adventure with my partner. Renting the golf cart in the cold is an experience by itself. I recommend going to the beach and playing in the sand, who cares if you are an adult. The restaurants aren't that special. SPI is only special for the memories you make there.
