Based in Sea Isle City, Starfish Boats blends the thrill of salt-spray fishing with the laid-back joy of coastal cruising. Captained by lifelong mariners and supported by an attentive deck crew, Starfish makes it easy for everyone...
Captain Mike and his crew, including first mate Anthony, have built a solid reputation for putting people on fish while keeping the atmosphere fun and relaxed. Anthony in particular gets called out constantly for his knowledge, humor, and knack for making everyone feel at home on the water. The boat itself is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, and the crew handles rough conditions with confidence, making safety-conscious decisions when the weather doesn't cooperate. Beyond fishing, there's also a nighttime cruise experience that reviewers describe as lively and festive, complete with music and a great sunset backdrop. Families with younger kids have had good times here, though it's worth knowing that the setup keeps beginners and experienced anglers somewhat separated, and bait and concessions aren't provided onboard, so come prepared. One or two reviewers found certain crew interactions a bit unwelcoming, though the overwhelming majority describe the opposite experience. For the price, this is a genuinely enjoyable trip whether the fish cooperate or not. Regulars keep coming back year after year, which says a lot.
Mate was helpful and attentative. Captain was great and made sure boat was running great and made sure everyone was safe. We went out for half day fishing on a windy day, seas were a little rougher than originally anticipated, seas got rougher and captain had to head back to dock rather than risk any mishap. Everyone was offered half off next trip and some fish were caught in tough conditions. Easy to book trip and prices were reasonable. Boat was clean. Thanks.
