VIP City Tours is a locally owned team of lifelong New Orleanians eager to share the soul of their city. Settle into a comfy, climate-controlled mini-bus and in just a couple of hours you’ll glide from jazz-filled Tremé to the man...
VIP offers an excellent way to understand New Orleans beyond the French Quarter, with guides who consistently earn praise for making history come alive. Justin, Christopher, Marcus, Lee, Jared, and Henry all get called out by name for their encyclopedic knowledge, humor, and ability to share both polished facts and honest local perspective. These aren't just tour guides reading scripts—many are New Orleans natives who weave in personal stories about Hurricane Katrina's aftermath, neighborhood changes, and where locals actually eat. The comfortable buses, convenient hotel pickup and dropoff, and the stop at Café Du Monde for beignets add to the experience. The tour hits St. Louis Cemetery and drives through multiple neighborhoods, giving first-time visitors a solid geographic and historical foundation for planning the rest of their trip. It's particularly great for seniors or anyone who wants comprehensive information without excessive walking. Most guests rave about the personalized attention and restaurant recommendations that proved spot-on. One reviewer did mention some technical issues with a microphone and door noise during their tour, and the cemetery stop can feel rushed depending on closing times. Overall though, this consistently delivers exactly what it promises: knowledgeable local guides who help you truly understand the city.
Really great tour experience! The tour guide had an interest in sharing about the rich, diverse history of New Orleans - such a great storyteller! My wish was that we had better weather and the tour was a bit longer! We had so much fun!
