Itinerary
1. Pick up: Your guide will pick you up at your desired location (our downtown shop, 255 Marine Way, Juneau, AK 99801, your ship, or your lodging).
2. Transportation to starting point: Your guide will drive you 20 minutes out to the Eaglecrest Ski Area, offering a narrated ride of Juneau's rich history, nature, and culture.
3. Gear-up: Next, prepare for your ride by receiving your bike, helmet, and rain gear if needed. Your guide will give you a brief run down of our bikes and safety expectations for our tour.
4. Ride to the muskeg: Begin your bike ride with a quick cycle to a muskeg trail. Disembark from the bikes and take in the unique environment of the Alaskan bog.
5. Stop in the old growth rainforest: Coast downhill to a trail the Tongass National Rainforest, where you will take a break from the bikes. You will follow a trail to see Sitka Spruce, Western Hemlock, and other wonders of an old growth forest.
6. Visit Fish Creek: Bike to sea level and stop at Fish Creek, a salmon spawning stream. Learn about the life cycle of salmon from your tour guide and watch salmon swim upstream (season dependent).
7. Douglas Island Boat Launch and Glacier View: Continue you ride to the boat launch. On a clear day, view the Mendenhall Glacier from across the channel.
8. False Outer Point: Conclude the cycling with a gentle ride along the coast, ending at False Outer Point on North Douglas Island. Enjoy ocean views, look out for wildlife, and celebrate completing your 10 mile journey.
10. Transportation back downtown: After completing your ride, your guide will drive you 20 minutes back downtown and drop you off at your boat or lodging.
