3-Day Great Barrier Reef Liveaboard Dive Trip from Cairns

Explore the Great Barrier Reef aboard a shared Pro Dive Cairns liveaboard, with up to 11 dives combining self-guided exploration, a guided orientation and night diving. Between underwater outings, relax on spacious decks with time to enjoy the reef setting.

Itinerary

Day 1

1. 05:45 — Start with a complimentary shared hotel transfer from Cairns City or Northern Beaches accommodation. Pickup may be earlier or later.
2. 06:15 — Check in at the Pro Dive Cairns Retail Shop, on the corner of Shields and Grafton Streets.
3. 07:00 — Depart Cairns for 3 days and 2 nights of diving and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy a light breakfast on board.
4. 11:30 — Take your first dive before lunch. An instructor-guided dive is offered if you haven't dived in a while.
5. 12:45 — Enjoy lunch with soup, fresh salads, cold meats and bread rolls.
6. 14:30 — Explore on your second, self-guided dive. Afterward, the vessel moves to the next site.
7. 16:30 — Head out on your third, self-guided dive.
8. 18:00 — Enjoy a hot dinner on board.
9. 19:30 — Join a guided night dive, usually at the afternoon dive site so you are familiar with the surroundings. Look out for sleeping turtles.
10. 20:30 — Enjoy dessert on board.

Day 2

1. 07:00 — Dive at a new site after the vessel moves early in the morning. Look out for gorgonian fans, giant clams and bump-headed parrotfish.
2. 08:00 — Enjoy breakfast with cereal, fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, toast and spreads.
3. 10:30 — Explore a new reef site on your second dive of the day.
4. 12:00 — Enjoy hot pasta and fresh salads for lunch.
5. 15:00 — After lunch and a snorkel, head out on your third dive.
6. 18:00 — Enjoy a hot dinner before your second night dive.
7. 19:30 — Join your second guided night dive.
8. 20:30 — Enjoy dessert on board.

Day 3

1. 06:30 — Start the day with a self-guided dive.
2. 07:30 — Enjoy a hot breakfast with fresh fruit salad, cereals and toast.
3. 09:00 — Travel to the final reef site of the trip for your second dive of the day.
4. 11:00 — Take your last dive, then enjoy freshly made sandwiches as the vessel returns to Cairns.
5. 16:00 — Finish in Cairns with an included return shuttle.

Important details

• Open Water diver certification from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), or an equivalent qualification from another training agency, is required.
• The listed price excludes a mandatory AUD 100 per person fee covering the government environmental charge, port departure tax and administration costs. You'll pay this at check-in.
• A fuel surcharge of AUD 25 per person is not included in the listed price and is collected at check-in on the day of travel.
• Northern Beaches property transfers, as far north as Palm Cove, cost an additional AUD 50 per trip: AUD 25 for pickup and AUD 25 for the return transfer. This is payable on site and is not included in the listed price. Cairns City property transfers are complimentary.
• Trips depart every day except Tuesday.
• For a property transfer, arrive in the lobby 10 minutes before your scheduled pickup time.
