The fishing action here really delivers, especially if you can book Captain Rocky or Captain Riley on a private charter. These experienced captains consistently put guests on fish throughout the day, and reviewers rave about their knowledge of local waters and willingness to move around to find the best spots. The crews are generally described as helpful, friendly, and skilled at rigging lines and offering fishing tips. Many visitors return year after year, which speaks volumes about the quality of the actual fishing experience. However, there's a noticeable pattern with customer service that's worth noting. Several recent reviews mention specific crew members who come across as rude or snippy with guests, particularly one female deckhand who made multiple parties uncomfortable with her tone. A few visitors also felt the younger crew could be more professional overall. Weather cancellations seem to happen (understandable for any marine operation), and there have been isolated complaints about basic boat amenities not working. Despite these service hiccups, the majority of guests still had great days on the water and caught plenty of fish, especially on the longer trips where the experienced captains really shine.
Fantastic trip on the Big Rock. Captain Jackson put us onto loads of Haddock and then finished the day off right next to some beautiful whales. The crew was super helpful and attentive at all times making sure everyone had a great time.
