Yes. Buy a 1-day fishing license online, but only purchase it the day before your trip. You’ll be told the day before whether to buy an Ontario license (ages 18+) or a Michigan license (ages 17+), based on where you’ll fish.
Wear proper clothing for the day and bring layers (hat, jacket, sweatshirt) plus rain gear. Choose boat shoes, tennis shoes, or water shoes. For safety, avoid flip flops, work boots, and black-soled shoes.
Bring sunglasses and sunblock, a camera, food/snacks, drinks/water, and any daily medications (including motion sickness pills if needed, such as Dramamine).
