The boat operator must be at least 21 years old and present a valid driver’s license at check-in; those born after January 1, 1988 are required to have a valid Florida Boating Safety Certificate or temporary card. The vessel has a maximum capacity of 8 passengers, and all rentals must return by 6:00 PM.
While prior boating experience is not required, renters must demonstrate a basic understanding of operation during the safety orientation, and all boats must remain within the designated boundaries reviewed at check-in. Guests are expected to arrive 15–20 minutes early for check-in and briefing, and are encouraged to bring essentials such as sunscreen, sunglasses, water, closed-toe shoes, and optional items like a cooler, towel, or swimwear. The experience is not recommended for individuals with serious mobility limitations, and unsafe behaviors such as diving or jumping while the boat is in motion are not permitted.
This booking is for the whole experience, which fits up to 8 guests.
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before start. Full refund if operator cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows will be charged the full price.
No problem! Our pontoons are beginner-friendly and we provide a safety walkthrough before you head out.
If you were born after January 1, 1988, Florida law requires you to carry a Boating Safety Education ID Card or a temporary certificate.
Alcohol is allowed for passengers. The designated driver must remain sober while operating the boat.
Cape Crossing Marina 306 Lagoon Way Merritt Island FL 32953
Cape Crossing delivers consistently great experiences on the water, with friendly staff like Tom, Mark, and Bob earning particular praise for their helpfulness. The check-in process is straightforward, especially if you complete the driver waiver online beforehand, and customers appreciate the fair pricing and good value. Repeat visitors keep coming back, which speaks volumes about the overall operation. The wildlife viewing is a major highlight here. Dolphins show up regularly, and many renters spot manatees and various birds during their trips. The CraigCats are popular choices, and there are also guided bioluminescence tours that get rave reviews for the magical experience of watching the water glow. Most boats operate reliably, though some equipment shows its age with worn seats or occasionally non-functional radios. A few customers noted the CraigCats sometimes need maintenance attention. The staff handles any issues professionally, including offering hassle-free refunds when weather becomes a concern. Half-day rentals seem perfect for first-timers, though many people wish they'd booked longer once they're out on the water.
