This remote desert escape has earned a devoted following of repeat visitors who rave about its healing mineral pools and laid-back atmosphere. The property recently underwent a complete transformation under new ownership, with thoughtful boho-chic decor, spacious rooms featuring California King beds, and charming touches like in-room record players. People consistently describe it as a perfect spot to disconnect and unwind, with many making the drive out from San Diego multiple times specifically for the restorative hot springs experience. The staff gets glowing mentions throughout reviews, with Richard, Sarah, Caden, and Frank earning particular praise for their warm, personalized service that makes guests feel genuinely special. The on-site restaurant serves up consistently delicious food, and the whole vibe encourages making new friends at the pools or over dinner. While prices have gone up significantly with the renovations (rooms run around $400/night now), guests seem to feel the upgraded experience justifies the cost. It's positioned as a unique healing retreat where you can soak under the stars, enjoy excellent meals, and experience what regulars keep calling "a little slice of desert magic."

What people are saying

I love Jacumba Hot Springs. I just got back from an incredible 3 night stay in the vortex. My parents and I were there to celebrate my Dad's 81st birthday. They were in heaven-- they loved the relaxed vibe and soaking in the springs under the sun and stars. My Dad loves music - i grew up with him playing guitar and listening to bluegrass albums on the turntable. I think his favorite moment was seeing Clinton Davis live at dinner on the long shadow stage. It was an awesome show in the perfect setting for an old time rewind on Highway 80. The dinner staff even got us a front row table! My wife and i started coming to Jacumba about a year before the hotsprings reopened. We were already enamored with the weirdness and beauty of the high desert, and we've loved what the owners did with the property. It's magical. The details make a difference: the seemless integration of art and style and natural beauty and rich, curated tunes. I feel so lucky to have been able to share Jacumba with my parents. Most importantly I would like to thank the staff for taking care of us. In particular, this includes Webb, who welcomed us with cool conversation and desert cocktails on arrival. Webb checked-in with us, made sure we were good, and he set the stage for a perfect stay. After check out, Webb introduced us to Coyote, a local legend that runs a flying saucer retrieval service. It was freaking awesome! The food at the hotsprings is outstanding, particularly the burgers and the pozole. We were well taken care of by Kami and Rita and Manny and Trinity and Phoebe. Additionally we would like to give special thanks to Amanda. My Mom has hearing challenges and she had water in her ear on Monday night. She couldn't hear at all. At dinner, we mentioned this to our server. Amanda searched high and low for some ear drops, and then went home and brought some back for us. It made a huge difference! My Mom could hear again within a couple hours. Eternally grateful. The Jacumba staff was so thoughtful and patient with my parents. It means a lot. Thank you for taking care of us. We can't wait to return to the vortex.
