    Itinerary

    1. Purchase tickets online ahead of time.

    2. Check in 10-15 minutes before your tour time at the kiosk.

    3. 10 minute welcome and safety briefing.

    4. Half mile walk down to the cave entrance.

    5. 50 minute guided tour through the cave.

    6. Half mile walk back uphill to the parking lot.

    Important details

    • Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time for check-in
    • Requires a moderately strenuous walk on a steep, narrow trail with uneven surfaces
    • Wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers are not suitable for the trail
    • Not recommended for people with heart or respiratory conditions, limited mobility, or heat-related illness susceptibility
    • Use the parking lot restrooms before starting the trail; none are available after you leave the lot
    • Store food and strongly scented items in the parking lot lockers
    • Keep all items in your pockets except a camera and water bottle
    • Do not bring food, tripods, selfie sticks, trekking poles, or backpacks into the cave
    • Pets are not allowed on the trail or in the cave and may not be left unattended in vehicles; service animals are allowed
    • Vehicles over 22 feet (6.7 meters) and towed trailers are not allowed on Cave Road
    • Allow extra travel time for park entrance lines and possible road construction delays
    • Cave Road closes daily at 4:30 PM

    Allow extra time for park entrance lines: about 30 minutes on weekdays and 1 hour on holidays and weekends, with waits sometimes exceeding 1 hour. From Ash Mountain Entrance, allow 1 hour 30 minutes; from Big Stump Entrance, allow 2 hours.

    Allow 1 hour from Foothills Visitor Center, 45 minutes from Lodgepole Visitor Center, 30 minutes from Giant Forest Museum, 2 hours from Grant Grove Visitor Center, and 3 hours from Cedar Grove Visitor Center to reach Crystal Cave.

    Cave Road closes daily at 4:30 PM.
