FAQs

Bring a valid driver’s license and a major credit card or cash for the damage waiver deposit.

A $250 deposit is held on a major credit card or paid in cash at the start and is refunded instantly if you return the vehicle without damage. If there is damage, the $250 deposit is held and an additional $500 is held until damage value is assessed and applied. The damage waiver limits liability to a maximum of $750 for vehicle damage if you followed the damage waiver rules, but it does not cover towing, impound, or loss of revenue fees.

You must be at least 21 to book a vehicle. Passengers can be under 21 as long as they can sit independently in their seat without a car seat or booster seat.

Tyler and Brad have built something special here with an incredibly streamlined rental process that gets you on the road fast. Multiple reviewers rave about how quick and easy everything is, from booking to pickup to return. The remote check-in system catches some people off guard since you might not meet anyone face-to-face, but it works smoothly once you understand the PIN system for starting the vehicles. The slingshots themselves are consistently described as clean, well-maintained, and an absolute blast to drive along the coast. What really stands out is how many people wish they'd rented for longer. The four-hour minimum seems to fly by, with several reviewers saying they should have gone for the 24-hour option instead. These three-wheeled machines attract attention everywhere, feature surprisingly good sound systems, and offer enough power to make the experience genuinely exciting. Just pack light, as storage is minimal. The combination of helpful staff, reasonable pricing, and the pure fun factor makes this one of those activities that travelers keep mentioning as a highlight of their St. Augustine trip.

What people are saying

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Ancient City Slingshots! From start to finish, their customer service was excellent. They were prompt, highly responsive, and showed a genuine interest in making sure my family had a wonderful time. They truly went above and beyond to make Father’s Day incredibly memorable for my husband and son. We will definitely be using them again in the future! Highly recommend!
