The ferry cruise to Stehekin along Lake Chelan is genuinely one of those experiences that earns its reputation. Turquoise and jade waters, snow-capped peaks, and the occasional mountain goat sighting make for a stunning backdrop, and the crew consistently gets high marks for being friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the region. Small touches like complimentary coffee, cocoa, and tea add a welcoming feel, and boarding is described as easy and stress-free. A few things worth knowing before you go: the boat is comfortable and functional rather than fancy, and most travelers seem perfectly happy with that tradeoff. If you can, opt for the longer layover in Stehekin since at least one visitor found 1.5 hours too short to fully enjoy the stop. Phone responsiveness has come up as an occasional frustration, so booking online may save you some hassle. Overall, this is a highly recommended outing for anyone visiting the Lake Chelan area.
Highly recommend taking this cruise (stay at least 3 hours in Stehekin, 1.5 wasn't enough but it was the only option that day)
