    Duration

    1.5–2 hrs

    Ideal For

    Up to 4 people

    Includes

Kennel tour, Dog play, Trail ride

    Highlights

Explore a working sled-dog ranch on a guided outdoor adventure centered on the pack. Discover the dogs' lives and care alongside the trail experience—this visit is about more than the ride.

    • Spend hands-on playtime with the rescued sled dogs
    • Hear the stories behind the pack and the ranch's approach to dog welfare

    Itinerary

This hands-on tour takes place at Rancho Luna Lobos in Peoa, Utah. Guests meet the racing/rescue pack, enjoy a guided kennel tour and educational presentation, then head out on tandem sleds with a professional musher. Participants are invited to help drive and may need to walk, push or skate on uphill sections – it is an active, outdoor experience. Two guests ride per sled (375 lb combined limit). A third guest may be added for a USD 50 fee if the weight limit is still met. Recommended for ages 3 +. Total experience runs 1.5–2 hours, with roughly 35 minutes of sled time. If snow depth is inadequate (less than 6–8" packed), the outing converts to the wheeled Dog Sled Safari at the same rate.

    Important details

    • A strict combined rider weight limit of 375 lbs applies per sled or safari rig, excluding the musher
    • Three-rider groups must include at least one child aged 10 or under
    • The experience involves walking and standing; assisting on uphill sections may involve walking, pushing or skating
    • Gratuity is not included in the listed price
    • Sign the participation waivers for your party
    • Dress for an entirely outdoor activity. Wear winter layers and clothing suitable for the weather
    • Do not bring disposable hand warmers, which can harm the dogs if dropped and eaten
    • When snow is insufficient, the tour automatically switches to a wheeled safari at standard pricing. The ride format may change without advance notice; unsafe conditions may limit the experience to a kennel tour with adjusted pricing
    • Arrive close to your scheduled start time, no more than 10–15 minutes early. Late arrival may mean you cannot take the tour
    • Allow extra time before other activities or flights: the dogs' pace, weather and trail conditions can extend the experience

    Cancellation Policy

Cancel 31 or more days before your tour for a refund minus non-refundable deposits and booking fees. Cancellations within 30 days, late arrivals and no-shows are non-refundable. No refunds apply for inappropriate clothing. If the operator cancels for severe, unsafe weather, you'll be offered a full refund or a free reschedule.

    FAQs

The sled ride is not recommended during pregnancy, but you can still join the kennel tour.

Yes. You can sit during the ride, and a professional musher stays on your sled. The dog sled experience still involves walking and standing during the kennel tour and a short walk to the sleds.

No. The route goes up the mountain and back with no place to switch riders. Reserve enough sleds for everyone riding; extra people can join the kennel tour only.
