Dolphin watch, snorkel, and visit a sandbar on a small-group Key West tour
4 Hours
Up to15 people
Snorkel gear, snacks, water
Head out on the SQUID for a small-group dolphin watch with guided snorkeling and a sandbar stop in Key West waters. Enjoy a biologist-created eco tour with a family-owned crew.
Meet at the boat SQUID for check-in; there is no office check-in. Arrive at least 15 minutes before departure because the boat leaves on time.
Gratuity is optional; a typical tip is 10–20% of the ticket price. Groups of 6+ have a 20% automatic gratuity added after the reservation is made.
Free cancellation or reschedule up to 6 days (144 hours) before departure. No cancellations or rescheduling within 6 days. No-shows are charged the full price. Full refund if the operator cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Private charters: full refund with 30 days’ notice.
Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a swimsuit, and a towel. From November through March, bring layered clothing because it can feel cooler on the water than on land. You can also bring extra snacks and drinks for your group.
Parking can be limited in Key West, especially for afternoon and sunset trips and during holidays. Bike parking is described as the easiest option, with bike racks close to the boat.
Yes. Wetsuits are provided during the winter months.
Key West
Small group sizes are a defining feature here, with most guests noting they had fewer than 15 people on board. The crew, frequently mentioned by name including Andrew, Charlie, Captain Mo, and Libby, are marine biologists who genuinely geek out over the local ecosystem. Dolphins, turtles, sharks, and reef fish show up regularly across reviews, and the guides go out of their way to find wildlife even when it falls outside the official itinerary. The experience skews educational and relaxed rather than rowdy, which clearly resonates with most guests. Repeat visitors are common, and several reviewers mentioned booking a second or third trip. One French-language review noted a language barrier for non-English speakers, worth keeping in mind if that applies to your group. Snacks like fruit and hummus are typically provided, a small but appreciated touch that comes up more than once.
The highlight of our Key West trip. Well worth the slightly extra cost compared to the busier “party” snorkel charters. It was essentially a private charter with a guided snorkel experience, as we were two of thirteen people on the boat. Andrew and Charlie were awesome and specifically took us to the best spots compared to other boats. They have a marine biology background to point out every individual thing at the reef. Also went out of their way to make sure we could find dolphins and explain facts about them. We were able to find some on the way back from snorkeling. Would recommend this company to anyone!
