Mike and Catherine have built something special with their kayaking operation, earning consistent praise as knowledgeable, accommodating guides who genuinely care about their guests' experience. Multiple reviewers mention returning for second and third tours, which speaks volumes. Mike particularly stands out for his photography skills (sharing photos at no extra charge), his extensive knowledge of local wildlife and the Beaufort area, and those thoughtful touches like bringing fresh fruit on hot days. He's patient with beginners and families with young children, adapting tours to different skill levels effortlessly. The golden sunset tours and sandbar trips are clear favorites, with regular dolphin sightings and opportunities to explore beaches like Boneyard Beach. Guests appreciate the relaxed pace that allows time for swimming, shell collecting, and really soaking in the scenery. Mike also offers flexible rental options with helpful local recommendations for those wanting to venture out independently. The overwhelming sentiment is that these guides make paddling accessible, educational, and memorable, with families already planning their next adventure before the first one ends.
We had a truly unforgettable experience. From crazy (but safe) weather, some great animal viewings, and amazing stories about the area and awesome past experiences, Mike created a wonderful tour for my best friend and I. His thoughtfulness in providing snacks and knowledge of the local weather and geographic aspects of the marsh/River helped us stay safe and thoroughly enjoy our tour. We will definitely be booking more tours next time we are in Beaufort. Thank you so much!
