Pedal-assist e-biking paired with a short Echo Canyon hike
2.5 hrs
E-bike, guided hike, tutorial
Explore Scottsdale’s desert landscape by premium e-bike, then take a short hike at Camelback Mountain. This guided outing combines pedal-assisted riding with a trail introduction.
At the start of this tour, you will receive a tutorial on how to operate the E-Bikes. Then we ride to the Greenbelt bike path, a World-Class-Gold-Star rated path. At almost every turn there are mountain views and bodies of water in our view. After a few miles of riding, we'll cross the Arizona canal and ride into Paradise Valley, the most expensive zip code in area. Celebrities, professional athletes and business magnates live there. For example, the owner of the brand Miracle Grow owns 16 million dollar estate on our route.
As we safely ride on a meticulously designed route, we'll travel on slow safe streets through Paradise Valley to the Echo Canyon Trail head on Camelback mountain. This trail is by far the most popular trail in the area. Most people avoid hiking it because they don't know that the hike to the first look out point is easy.
Hiking the whole trail is very difficult and would take 2.5 hours. That is not our goal. We just want to hike the first portion of this world class trail. Your tour guide will stay with the E-Bikes while your group hikes. This tour gives you an opportunity to experience Camelback without getting too worn out and tired.
Once we finish our hike, we're headed back through Paradise Valley to the bike path. We'll see hidden gems and learn some fun facts and local history that you would definitely miss without a tour guide.
Cancel more than 48 hours before the tour for a full refund or rescheduling. No cancellations or refunds within 48 hours. If both parties agree to cancel due to rain or bad weather, you'll receive a full refund.
Bring water, wear sneakers, and bring sunglasses.
You must be ages 12–75 (no exceptions) and at least 5 feet tall. You must be able to ride a bike and pass a bike-riding proficiency test. Expecting mothers cannot participate.
You get a tutorial on how to operate the e-bikes at the start. You still need to already know how to ride a bike and be able to pass a proficiency test.
Scottsdale, AZ
Echo Canyon is the eastern gateway to Camelback Mountain, the most iconic landform in the Scottsdale and Phoenix skyline. The Echo Canyon Trail is one of two main routes to the summit and is officially designated as a "Point of Pride" by the state of Arizona. Hikers come from around the world to climb it, but the trailhead sits in one of the most congested parking areas in the valley, and the full trail is a demanding scramble that is not for everyone. This tour solves both problems by delivering you to Echo Canyon on an e-bike and guiding you up just the first, most accessible section of the trail, where the views are already spectacular.
The 2.5-hour experience is split roughly in half between riding and hiking. The e-bike portion takes you along the Greenbelt bike path, a car-free corridor with mountain views and canal crossings, then through the quiet residential streets of Paradise Valley, where the homes are as striking as the desert scenery around them. Your guide narrates the ride through a personal audio system, sharing Scottsdale history, pointing out desert plants and wildlife, and calling out notable properties along the way. At the Echo Canyon trailhead, you leave the bikes behind and hike approximately 15 minutes to marker #9, where the trail opens to panoramic views of the city, the valley floor, and the surrounding mountain ranges. It is enough altitude to feel the accomplishment without requiring an advanced fitness level.
This Echo Canyon tour is a great fit for visitors who want to experience Camelback Mountain without committing to the full hike, couples and families looking for an active but accessible outdoor activity, and anyone who wants a guided introduction to Scottsdale's landscape and neighborhoods on their first or second day in town.
