With a stellar reputation among whale watchers, this operation consistently delivers memorable encounters with humpback whales in Maui's waters. Guests rave about the knowledgeable crew members, frequently mentioning Captain H, Si, Meredith, Brie, and Henore by name. The naturalists and captains strike an impressive balance between education and entertainment, sharing fascinating insights about whale behavior while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and fun. Many families and larger groups report seeing mothers with calves, breaching, and other dramatic behaviors. The morning tours appear to be the sweet spot for whale activity based on guest feedback. One visitor noted their afternoon tour saw significantly less action, suggesting timing matters when booking. Customer service gets high marks too, with the team handling schedule changes smoothly and answering questions with patience. The two-hour tours give plenty of time to seek out prime viewing spots, and captains actively work to position the boat for great encounters while respecting safe distances from these magnificent creatures.
We set out this morning between 7:15 and 9:15. It was beautiful with lots of humpback whale activity. The explanations from Captain Hanoi (wrong spelling?) and naturalist Meredith were thorough, friendly, and interesting. A wonderful experience. I felt safe. We approached the whales carefully, maintaining a safe distance. Thank you!
