Standing beneath the dense canopy of El Yunque National Forest, you hear the forest before you see it. Coqui frogs call from the undergrowth, water rushes over mossy rocks, and parrots move through branches overhead. The air is thick and warm, carrying the scent of wet earth and tropical flowers. El Yunque National Forest covers the Sierra de Luquillo mountains in northeastern Puerto Rico, offering a living landscape unlike anything on the US mainland.
Elisa and I took our first Salsa class here in Puerto Rico and it was the best. Our instructor made this class a lot of fun for the tourists. Everybody was laughing. We started off with two left feet and not to our instructor’s fault, we left the two left feet, but more confident to practice at home and maybe even go to a club one evening!
