Itinerary
Begin the day at our Sherwood Road property with a scenic hike down through the redwoods to the Noyo River and the east end of Tunnel #1. You’ll get acquainted with your bikes and guides, and set off – trips will be staggered by a few minutes so that you can enjoy the solitude of the route as you make your way 12.5 miles inland along the tranquil river. You’ll pass South Fork, Ranch, Redwood Lodge, Grove, and other historic stops, crossing over wooden trestle bridges that offer stunning views of the river below. Pull into Camp Noyo and take an hour break, with a picnic and refreshments offered complimentary for your enjoyment. Take a swim in the river, relax, or stroll among the redwoods before setting off home.
Important details
- Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time; arriving more than 15 minutes late means you cannot ride
- Ages 6+ only; solo riders must be at least 16
- Minimum height: 31 inches from hip to floor
- Weight limit: 250 pounds per rider and 500 pounds per railbike
- Requires walking steep, rugged terrain and descending and ascending about 15 stories
- Wear closed-toe shoes and a helmet; sanitized helmets are provided, or bring a bicycle helmet with an under-chin strap
- Bring a valid photo ID matching your reservation information
- No infants, pets, or drones
- Trips run rain or shine; dangerous conditions may cancel the trip
- Expect a shorter route with turnaround at Camp Three on May 22–27 and August 1–6
Cancellation Policy
Reservations are non-refundable. Cancellations with at least 72 hours' notice may be rebooked. Full refund if the operator cancels due to dangerous conditions.

This is a strenuous, lengthy trip. You need good mobility and must be able to hike steep, rugged terrain, including descending and ascending the equivalent of 15 stories to reach the railbikes from Sherwood Road.
Passengers should be at least 6+ years old and able to walk steep, rugged terrain. Single riders must be at least 16. Minimum height is 31 inches (hip to floor). Maximum weight is 250 pounds per passenger and 500 pounds per bike.
Wear casual/sports attire and comfortable layers. Closed-toe shoes are required. Bring water; a backpack, bug spray, and a swimsuit are suggested.
