Captain Russ, Captain Dave, and Captain Tony are the faces behind this Key Largo eco-tour, and each one brings serious local knowledge and genuine enthusiasm to the water. Reviewers consistently highlight how much they learned about the mangroves, waterways, and wildlife, while keeping things entertaining rather than lecture-like. Manatees, dolphins, ospreys, herons, and more make regular appearances, and the pontoon boat is comfortable and largely covered, with good accessibility for those who need it. A recurring tip from happy visitors: book this early in your trip. The captains double as informal local guides, sharing restaurant picks, park tips, and hidden gems that can shape the rest of your Keys vacation. The two-hour format moves quickly, and more than a few people wished it lasted longer. One reviewer felt the tour leaned too heavily toward residential canals and real estate rather than wildlife and birding, which is worth keeping in mind if deep nature immersion is your primary goal. That said, the overwhelming majority of guests leave genuinely impressed, and the captains' passion for the area comes through in nearly every account.

We have a wonderful time on our excursion. Out of the gate, Captain Dave was super clear on what they offered and what the tour was all about. He was an excellent captain, and he was very knowledgeable about the Keys and Everglades. It was a pleasant trip on a pontoon. It was fully covered so you weren’t getting roasted by the sun. Captain Dave’s knowledge was superb. His experience made him an excellent teacher and his stories were very enjoyable and educational. If you love birding, enjoy a walk through nature, or share a fascination of the beauty and backbone of the Keys ecology, I highly recommend this trip. A great bonus—Capt’n Dave spotted a group of manatees on our way out and way back!! Thanks Captain Dave for a memorable time!!
