Abe, Bill, Colin, and the rest of the guides here have built a serious reputation for making bourbon tours feel personal rather than transactional. Reviewers consistently highlight how much the guides know, not just about bourbon and distilleries, but about Kentucky history, horse farms, and local culture. That depth of knowledge, paired with a genuinely warm and laid-back approach, is what keeps people coming back for repeat visits and recommending the experience to friends. The private tour format seems to be a big part of what makes this work. Groups can linger at distilleries they love, add stops on the fly, and shape the day around their own interests. Smaller or lesser-known distilleries get just as much attention as the big names, which seasoned bourbon fans especially seem to appreciate. Little touches matter too, like guides carrying purchases, taking photos throughout the day, and even shipping a forgotten item home after the tour. If there is a consistent thread across nearly every review, it is that people leave feeling like they made a friend. Abe in particular draws praise both as a guide and as an attentive, responsive owner in the planning stages. For anyone considering a bourbon trail trip in Kentucky, this outfit clearly delivers a well-organized, memorable day that goes well beyond just driving people between distilleries.

Spectacular adventure! Abe is a top notch guide who was very flexible taking into account our desire to visit smaller distilleries. We especially loved Whiskey Thief. Abe is extremely knowledgeable about the bourbon industry, history of the distilleries and Lexington and surrounding areas. We enjoyed a full day of great tastings, lively conversation, and beautiful views. Never a dull moment! We will be back to tour the breeding farms with Horse and Barrel Tours.
