    Itinerary

Enjoy a full-day tour to Grand Canyon National Park with a knowledgeable local guide, hotel pickup, and a small group of no more than 10 travelers. Travel in a spacious, air-conditioned van, explore historic sites, scenic viewpoints, and enjoy a hands-on geology talk with real rocks. Lunch and park entry included.

Hotel Pickup • 8:15 am - 8:30 am (pickup time depends on hotel location) Your day begins with convenient pickup from your hotel or vacation rental. As we head north, enjoy the scenic drive through the Kaibab National Forest, past the towering San Francisco Peaks, and along the newly protected Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni National Monument.

Morning at the Historic South Rim: Look into the widest and deepest part of the Grand Canyon, where the National Park first took root. Walk alongside your expert guide through historic buildings and museum, uncovering the rich stories, cultural significance, and hidden details of the South Rim’s development.

Rim-side Geology Talk: Get hands-on with Grand Day Tours' mobile geology museum! Discover the secrets of the canyon’s formation through real rocks and fossils from the Paleozoic Era in a fun, interactive geology lesson right on the canyon’s edge. Learn how the canyon formed from our expert guides, all while taking in breathtaking views.

Lunch in the Park (Included): 12:00-1:00 PM

No need to pack or pre-order. Lunch is part of your tour. Choose from a variety of freshly prepared meals at the Maswik Lodge. Meals include an entrée and soft drink (desserts and alcoholic beverages are not included)

Desert View Drive: After lunch, sit back and relax in our spacious, air-conditioned van as we cruise along Desert View Drive, one of the most scenic roads in the park. This rim-side route offers sweeping canyon vistas and plenty of breathtaking sights. As we wind through ponderosa pine forest, keep an eye out for elk and mule deer roaming freely in their natural habitat.

Afternoon on the East Rim: While the South Rim boasts the deepest views, the East Rim offers the best views of the river and the most vibrant rock layers. Each stop is carefully selected for its beauty and story, as your guide brings each vista to life.

Return to Hotels: 4:00-5:00 PM (end time depends on hotel location)

After a full day of awe-inspiring sights, stories, and scenery, we’ll return you to your lodging between 4:00–5:00 PM just in time for dinner and a well-earned rest.

Grand Day Tours provided just what we were looking for in a one day overview of the South Rim. Keaton was extraordinarily well versed in the histor, the geology and the lore of the Grand Canyon. His vehicle was totally well equipped and comfortable, pace of the tour allowed for walks and comfort stops. The day was terrifically well spent!
