BigBlue's sunset cruises are clearly a hit with most travelers, who rave about Captain Erik's skilled piloting and the friendly crew, especially deckhand Molly. The two to three-hour trips take you through Spring Lake, down the Grand River, and out onto Lake Michigan for stunning sunset views. People love the BYOB policy, which keeps costs down, and consistently mention the professional yet laid-back atmosphere. The crew goes beyond just steering the boat, helping with food service during private charters and making everyone feel welcome. A few serious concerns deserve attention, though. Multiple families reported being turned away at departure because promised child life vests weren't available, despite what's stated on the website. There's also a complaint about the captain creating excessive wake in no-wake zones and being overly aggressive with other boaters. If you're planning to bring young children, call ahead to confirm equipment availability. Otherwise, most guests found this an affordable, relaxing way to experience Lake Michigan's beauty, with seating being first-come, first-served once you board.
