Bring your group to Kayak Pittsburgh’s North Park Boathouse for a relaxed, self-guided paddle on the lake. You’ll start with a welcome and safety talk, then explore at your own pace.
Group size is minimum 10; the description lists a maximum of 20 (the headline notes 10–40). Minimum weight is 35 lb; maximum is 325 lb (solo) or 575 lb (tandem). All participants must complete an Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk form, and lifejackets must be worn at all times.
If you cancel after booking, you receive an electronic gift card for the balance. Activities proceed rain or shine. If severe weather shortens your rental by more than 30 minutes, you receive a full refund or can move to a future date.
Meet these requirements, which are enforced on the day of your paddle: Minimum weight is 35 lb. Maximum weight is 325 lb for solo kayaks and 575 lb for tandem kayaks. Ages 3 (or 35 lb)–8 must ride in a tandem kayak with a parent or guardian. Ages 9–12 may ride in a tandem kayak with another child (age 9+) if a parent, guardian, or chaperone is on the water with them. Ages 13–15 may paddle solo if accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone on the water. Ages 16–17 may paddle solo on their own. Ages 18+ may paddle independently.
Yes. All participants must complete an Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk form before the trip date. A parent or guardian must sign for anyone under 18.
Wear comfortable, moisture-wicking clothing that can get wet, plus closed-toe shoes or shoes with a secure back strap. Bring a water bottle, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and sunglasses. You can also bring water and small snacks.
