Hammond Lake
This park has earned its reputation as a peaceful escape from city life, and the reviews make it easy to see why. Visitors consistently highlight the stunning scenery, well-maintained trails, and the sense of space that comes with having multiple lakes, rolling hills, and plenty of room to roam. Wildlife sightings are common along the trails, and the campgrounds and fishing spots get high marks from regulars who keep coming back. One heads-up worth noting: bug spray is strongly recommended, and at least one visitor found the campground itself more bare-bones than expected, without amenities like a pool or recreation area. This is very much a nature-first destination, so if you're looking for a rustic, peaceful outdoor experience rather than a resort-style setup, you'll likely love it here. The staff are consistently described as friendly and the park feels organized and well cared for overall.
