- Bring a Coast Guard-approved life jacket for participants weighing 30 lbs or less
- Wear a life jacket at all times for ages 14 and under
- One adult required per child age 14 and under; children under 15 cannot paddle alone
- A supervising adult must attend and sign waivers for ages 15-17
- Requires moderate fitness for adults, who may do most or all of the paddling
