Mei Mei has carved out something special with their dumpling-making classes that consistently delight groups of all kinds. Instructors like Gabby, Phoenix, Rachel, and Agnes get praised repeatedly for making the experience fun, engaging, and accessible to everyone from complete beginners to seasoned cooks. The classes walk you through multiple folding techniques (including creative shapes like elephants and roses), let you customize fillings and mix your own sauces, then you actually cook and eat what you've made. People love that the pace works for all skill levels and nobody feels left behind. Beyond the classes, the cafe serves seriously good dumplings and scallion pancakes made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Reviewers rave about the flavors and variety, with solid vegetarian and vegan options available. The space itself adds to the charm, with windows into the dumpling-making area and a small shop selling merch and specialty items. Groups particularly appreciate how accommodating the staff is with dietary restrictions and special occasions. The classes run a bit on the pricey side, but most feel the combination of learning actual skills, plenty of laughs, and leaving with leftovers makes it worth the splurge for date nights, team building, or celebrations with friends and family.
I took the dumpling making class and it was great! It was Interactive, fun, hands-on and the dumplings were delicious. We had plenty of dumplings to try and they sent us home with guides on how to fold and recipes for some of their signature fillings.
