    Highlights

Explore Juneau waters on an 18-passenger whale watching cruise led by locally trained captains. Speak one-on-one with the captain and naturalist while taking in Alaska's coastal scenery.

    • Watch for humpback and orca whales in Juneau waters
    • Look for eagles, sea lions, seals, lighthouses, glaciers and remote islands
    • Enjoy views from an enclosed cabin with large windows and heaters in cold weather
    • Stop at Brotherhood Bridge for a Mendenhall Glacier photo opportunity on most tours
    • Use the onboard restroom with a flushing toilet and locking door

    Itinerary

If your tour time is 9:30am, this is the time we plan for transportation to leave! PLEASE arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the listed tour time, so that we can leave on time! We would then plan to arrive at the harbor where our boats depart by 10:00am. When you arrive at the harbor, you will be met by your captain or guide and have an opportunity to use the restroom on land (there is one on the boat, it's just not as roomy) and then you will head down the dock to board our vessel for your whale watching adventure! You will start heading back to the harbor at approximately 12:35pm (depending on where you are) so that you can be disembarking by about 12:55pm to meet your returning transport at 1:00pm.

The crew at Harv & Marv's Outback Alaska clearly loves what they do, and that enthusiasm shows up in every review. Guides like Coral, Tess, John, and captains including Graham, Dalton, and Ben consistently earn praise for their deep knowledge of humpback whales and local marine life. Many guests mention how the naturalists can identify individual whales by their tail patterns and share fascinating stories about them. The small group sizes create an intimate, personalized experience where you'll have plenty of space and opportunities to ask questions. What really sets this operation apart is how reliably guests see whales in impressive numbers and up close. People report spotting bubble feeding, breaches, whale babies, and even orcas alongside the humpbacks. The crews know exactly where to position the boats for optimal viewing while maintaining respectful distances. Complimentary snacks, drinks, bathrooms onboard, and professional photos they share afterward add thoughtful touches. Transportation from cruise ships is included, and guides often share local recommendations for food and activities beyond the tour itself.
