Ketchikan Creek Street Burlesque Show

The Red Lantern’s “Whispers of Ketchikan” show was a total delight! I had the privilege of seeing the show twice while I was visiting Ketchikan, once with a general admission ticket and once as a VIP. The venue and the adult boutique it is attached to are both above the Totem Bar (climbing a flight of stairs is required) just steps away from the cruise ship docks (with nearby street parking if relevant). A friendly and helpful staff is waiting to greet you in the boutique (which has a little something for everyone so enjoy a browse before or after the show if you’re able). Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available for purchase and seating is first-come-first-serve, either at a table or at the bar. The VIP experience included a complementary drink, a treat from Ketchicandies, and a discount in the boutique. The show was excellent! The three-piece band sounded wonderful setting the mood, accompanying performers, and adding ambient and comedic sound throughout the show. The emcee was an extremely talented performer who beautifully led the audience through different corners of Ketchikan during the prohibition era (and performed a compelling burlesque act of his own). Each of the four performers embodied a story from Ketchikan’s past, each with their own special talents highlighted (vocals, comedy, hula hoops, acrobatics, the art of the tease). The hour-long show is the perfect length but almost feels over too soon because I wanted MORE!! After the show, you are able to take photos with the cast. Restroom are available in the venue.
Bring dollar bills to tip (though digital tips are accepted as well), and be prepared to delve into the experience as much as you please — short of going on stage; don’t get on the stage.
