4-Hour Kids' Scuba Experience in Key Largo

Itinerary

1. Welcome, Check-In & Orientation (20–30 minutes)

• Meet the instructor team
• Complete registration and medical forms
• Overview of the day’s schedule
• Parents briefed on viewing areas and safety procedures

2. Equipment Introduction & Fun Safety Workshop (30 minutes)

• Kids learn how masks, fins, and regulators work
• Try on and size their scuba gear
• Hands-on “mini workshop” where they explore bubbles, buoyancy, and underwater signals
• Interactive safety session designed to keep kids engaged

3. Dry-Land Practice & Confidence Games (20–30 minutes)

• Practice breathing through a regulator (on land)
• Learn simple hand signals
• Buoyancy mini-games (simulated on land to boost comfort)
• Photo opportunity with gear (great for parents!)

4. Pool Session – Part 1: Getting Comfortable (30–45 minutes)

• Slow, supported entry into the water
• Breathing practice underwater
• Learning to move and float with fins
• Instructor-led comfort-building exercises

5. Break Time (15–20 minutes)

• Rest, hydrate, bathroom break
• Short review of what they’ve learned (Snacks are not provided—kids should bring their own.)

6. Pool Session – Part 2: Skills & Underwater Adventure (45–60 minutes)

• Simple underwater skills (e.g., mask clearing, regulator recovery)
• Underwater treasure hunt
• Swim-through games or obstacle course
• Bubble ring competition, toy retrieval, and other fun challenges
• Lots of exploration time with a PADI Instructor

7. Pool Session – Part 3: “Mini Dive” Experience (20–30 minutes)

• Guided mini dive around the shallow pool
• Practice buoyancy and underwater swimming techniques
• Opportunity for underwater photos or video (if offered as an add-on)

8. Wrap-Up, Debrief & Certificates (20 minutes)

• Kids share their achievements
• Instructor reviews what they learned
• Each participant receives a PADI Bubblemaker certificate
• Parents receive optional recommendations for next-level programs (e.g., PADI Seal Team)

• Ages 8+ only
• A parent or legal guardian must accompany participants under 18
• A completed PADI medical questionnaire is required before diving; some answers require a doctor’s approval
• Requires good general health, water comfort, and the ability to float or swim with assistance
• Requires following instructor directions and wearing the supplied scuba gear comfortably
• Bring swimwear and a towel
• A signed liability waiver is required
