Scuba dive Lāna‘i’s Cathedrals and lava tubes on an 8-hour boat trip
8 Hours (approx.)
Lunch, snacks, beverages
Head to the island of Lāna‘i for a longer scuba day focused on the Cathedrals’ lava tubes and other possible sites. Your captain selects dive locations based on conditions and local boat traffic.
A diver medical history form is required, and some divers may need a physician’s release. If it’s been more than two years since your last dive, you must do a guided dive or refresher ahead of time, or hire a private guide.
No refunds for changes/cancellations within 48 hours of check-in unless your spaces are rebooked. Medical release may be required; if you need one and show up without it, you can ride as a passenger but cannot dive and will not be refunded. Dive sites depend on weather conditions.
Bring your certification card, a reusable water bottle, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and a jacket for surface intervals.
Bring extra food if you’d like. Keep it small enough to fit in under-bench dry storage; the boat has no cold storage. Snacks and beverages are provided onboard.
Complete the diver medical history form in the waiver. Some divers must bring a physician’s release. If you need a medical release and arrive without it (or it’s incomplete), you can ride as a passenger but you cannot dive and you will not be refunded.

Divers rave about the exceptional professionalism and attention to detail here. The crew stands out for remembering everyone's names, handling all the gear setup, providing individual dry boxes for belongings, and offering warm water rinses after dives. Guides like Nick, Dave, Joe, and Don consistently earn praise for their knowledge and ability to maximize bottom time, often letting divers stay down for 60+ minutes. The operation runs smoothly from booking through the actual dives, with Beth frequently mentioned for being helpful and accommodating with scheduling. The dive sites themselves are outstanding, from Molokini's back wall to Lanai's Cathedrals, with regular sightings of octopus, sharks, lobster, and endemic species. What really sets this operation apart is how they handle mixed experience levels, allowing confident divers to explore independently while still providing guidance when needed. One dissenting voice felt the boat was overcrowded with too many divers per guide, but this appears to be an outlier among overwhelmingly positive experiences. Multiple reviewers call this their top dive operator, with many returning trip after trip.
Absolutely incredible dive at the Lanai Cathedral and Sergeant Major dive sits! Dave is the best guide and got us perfectly positioned for every site including a stampede of spinner dolphins! Truly unforgettable day of diving with the Maui Diamond crew 🤙🏼🤿
