Wear closed-toe shoes—running shoes work well for wet canyons—and dress in layers for the day's weather. Bring 2 liters of water per person, or 3 liters in summer, plus snacks if needed. Bring sunscreen and sunglasses.
Bring a 20- to 30-liter backpack if you have one, or use a provided pack. Bring a camera if you like; use your own dry bag to protect it in the water-filled canyon.
