This historic property sits right at the gateway to Monument Valley, and that spectacular location is really the star of the show here. Travelers rave about the stunning views, especially at sunrise, and appreciate having amenities like a restaurant, gift shop, museum, and even a gas station all on site. The campground gets particular praise from guests who mention helpful staff members like Marquita and Marlena, with campers enjoying the surrounding canyon walls and an easily accessible arch just minutes away. Accommodations vary quite a bit depending on where you end up. Some guests got rooms with mountain views, while others found themselves in cabin-style units further from the main lodge without the same scenery. Cleanliness is hit or miss according to reviews, with several mentions of bathrooms needing better attention. A few travelers noted confusion about room locations during booking, so it's worth confirming exactly where your accommodation will be. The restaurant receives mixed feedback, though most seem happy enough with the convenience of having food on-site in an area with limited options.
Enjoyed our one night here. Some of the spots had quite a bit of pitch and wouldn't have wanted that with our 39 footer. Our spot was at the end (45) and worked well for us and loved the open view we had. The streets paved nicely, hiking trails right off the campground. Beautiful views. We booked a sunset tour with them that took you through monument valley as we had heard the road was rough and wasn't sure about taking our 450 on it. I'm glad we did the tour as he pointed out the different monuments and what they were called. I didn't love the mandatory "shopping stops" along the way and would have preferred to just keep moving. The office staff were polite and helpful and they had a great gift shop. The site was clean with rocks and had a nice table and in ground fire pit (although they had a fire burn at the time we visited) Would recommend this place for sure.
