The guides here consistently earn rave reviews for their deep historical knowledge and engaging personalities. Paul, Dawn, Marcus, and Donna all get called out by name for making tours both educational and entertaining. Visitors love how these local experts share Portsmouth's history while keeping things lighthearted and fun. The routes take you beyond typical tourist areas to harbor islands and coastal spots you'd likely miss exploring on your own, with New Castle Island being a particular highlight. Both guided tours and independent e-bike rentals are available, and the staff shows real flexibility with timing and routes. The pace is leisurely with plenty of stops, making it accessible even if you're not a regular cyclist. Families with kids and bachelorette parties alike have had great experiences. One reviewer noted some bike maintenance issues, but most found the equipment in excellent condition. The scenic waterfront views combined with insider knowledge about Portsmouth make this an ideal way to get your bearings and discover the area's hidden gems.

Incredible experience renting an E-Bike with PortCity today. They offer tours and independent rentals. I like to do things by myself, so I opted for a solo rental. The shop recommended a fantastic 22 mile loop through the Komoot app. Finished the loop early, and decided to ride into Maine for lunch. They we’re super flexible allowing me to rent the bike for an additional hour. Can’t recommend enough. Will repeat next time I’m in town!
