Paddle the Allegheny River at night with experienced trip leaders before settling in to watch Zambelli Fireworks after the Pirates game. Enjoy light paddling under city lights as the game wraps up.
- Explore the river on a relaxed 0.5- to 1-mile paddle
- Watch the fireworks from a spot selected by your trip leaders
- Return at 10:30 PM if fireworks are delayed by a late game

Important details
- Arrive 15 minutes early; late arrivals cannot be accommodated
- Ages 3+ only; minimum weight 35 lbs
- Paddlers under 13 must ride in a tandem kayak with an adult
- Previous kayak experience is required
- Complete a waiver before paddling
- Bring a flashlight or headlamp for the night paddle
- If bringing your own kayak, use a seaworthy non-motorized boat and stay with the group
- On the July 10 outing, sign an additional photo release for publicity photography
Cancellation Policy
Activities proceed rain or shine. If severe weather shortens your watercraft rental by more than 30 minutes, receive a full refund.
FAQs
Bring a water bottle. Wear quick-drying, non-cotton or denim clothing and comfortable shoes that can get wet. A light jacket can come in handy for the night paddle.
Bring a non-motorized, seaworthy kayak and transport it to and from the launch. Your boat will be inspected before the paddle; if it is not suitable, a rental kayak will be provided. Stay with the group, and bring boat lights if you have them.
