Itinerary

Your Pittsburgh sweet treats adventure begins in the heart of downtown at the historic Omni William Penn Hotel, one of the city's most iconic landmarks. As you learn about Pittsburgh's rich history and the fascinating stories behind this grand hotel, you'll enjoy an almond torte donut inspired by the famous Burnt Almond Torte, a beloved local dessert that has earned national recognition.

From there, we'll stroll through the historic streets of downtown Pittsburgh, passing beautiful churches, historic buildings, and sites that helped shape the Steel City. Along the way, your guide will share stories of Pittsburgh's transformation from frontier settlement to industrial powerhouse, as well as the people and events that left their mark on the city.

Our next stop takes us to a charming French bakery where you'll enjoy an authentic pastry crafted using traditional techniques. As you savor your treat, you'll learn about the bakery's French roots and the artistry behind some of the world's most beloved pastries.

Continuing through downtown, we'll admire the striking glass architecture of PPG Plaza, one of Pittsburgh's most recognizable landmarks. You'll hear stories about the city's industrial heritage, famous companies, and the innovations that helped build modern Pittsburgh.

We'll then make our way to historic Market Square, a vibrant gathering place that has served as the heart of downtown for generations. As we continue through the Cultural District, you'll discover renowned theaters, public art, and views of some of Pittsburgh's famous bridges and sports venues. Depending on the day and pace of the tour, you may also enjoy views of Point State Park and the confluence of Pittsburgh's three rivers.

Our final stop celebrates flavors from beyond Pittsburgh with traditional Turkish baklava made using pistachios sourced directly from family farms in Turkey. While enjoying this delicious finale, you'll hear the inspiring story of the family behind the business and how they brought a taste of their homeland to downtown Pittsburgh.
