Anthony, known as "Flash," is a multi-generational North End resident who leads food tours through Boston's most storied Italian neighborhood. Reviewers consistently highlight his unfiltered, no-holds-barred personality as the defining feature of the experience. He grew up in these streets, knows the owners, and takes groups to small mom-and-pop spots that most visitors would never find on their own. The food, which includes pizza, pasta, subs, arancini, gelato, and affogato, is plentiful and genuinely excellent. The tour is best described as spending a few hours with a hilarious, sharp-tongued local who happens to know everyone in the neighborhood. That authenticity is clearly what people love most, but it does come with a caveat that multiple reviewers actually volunteer themselves: if you're easily offended or expect a polished, scripted experience, this probably isn't your tour. For everyone else, the consistent word across hundreds of reviews is that it's one of the most memorable things people do in Boston, locals included.
My family and I took a trip to Boston and wanted to have some authentic experiences that you can’t get anywhere else in the world, and let me tell you, there’s only one Anthony in the North End you Get to have a good tour with! Hilarious and rough around the edges, if you want to get a little taste of the North End, Anthony is your guy. The food was great and the restaurants make you feel like you’re part of the community. Highly recommend!
