Travel from historic streets to the water on a full-day Puerto Rico outing
8.5 hrs
Private boat, city tours
Spend a full day exploring Puerto Rico by land and water, with an optional nighttime swim. Kid-sized life vests are available for the boat portion.
Ponce
We begin our journey in the elegant city of Ponce, celebrated for its striking neoclassical architecture and colonial charm. Stroll through the heart of the city at Plaza Las Delicias, snapshot the iconic red-and-black Parque de Bombas firehouse museum, and wander down the romantic Callejón del Amor. Your historian guide will bring the art deco details and rich aristocratic history of Puerto Rico’s second-largest city to life.
Yauco
Next, we head into the hills to experience Yaucromatic, a massive urban art project that transformed an entire mountainside community into a breathtaking, open-air art gallery. Walk the vibrant, rainbow-colored streets, view the famous crochet-covered tree, and visit Plaza Pablo El Negro while learning how local grassroots creativity revitalized this beautiful town.
La Parguera Natural Reserve
In the afternoon, we hit the southwest coast at La Parguera, a pristine fishing village in Lajas. Board your private boat charter and cruise out across turquoise waters to one of the dreamy, mangrove-lined sandbar where locals float, relax, and listen to music in waist-deep water. We'll toast to a spectacular Caribbean sunset right from the deck of the boat.
Swim in the Bioluminescent Bay
As darkness falls, experience pure magic. Dive into the world-famous bioluminescent bay, where millions of microscopic organisms light up with neon blue light at your touch. Swimming is fully optional—if you prefer to stay dry, you can watch the water glow beautifully right from the safety of the boat.
Note this is a natural phenomenon, it is affected by rain, light, and currents.
All sales are final; no refunds, credits, or date changes except documented airline or cruise cancellations, medical emergencies, or severe weather/natural disasters. Late arrivals and no-shows are forfeited. Full refund if the operator cancels due to safety concerns or unforeseen circumstances.

If you’re looking for a tour company that feels more like familia than a business transaction, Sofrito Tours is it. As the founder of This Latina Travels, I’m intentional about working with local companies that not only show you the beauty of Puerto Rico, but also the corazón behind it — and Sofrito Tours understood the assignment and then some. I partnered with them to help coordinate all the tours and cultural experiences for our Alternative Spring Break week — a full week centered on service, community, and connecting deeply with Puerto Rican culture. From the very first conversation, Laura listened, supported my vision, and truly went above and beyond to make sure every detail reflected our values. Whether it was curating cultural coffee tours, introducing us to local leaders, or coordinating logistics so our participants could fully immerse themselves, Sofrito Tours brought a level of care and cultural integrity that’s rare to find. Every moment felt intentional and rooted in community. They didn’t just offer tours — they helped create experiences that honored Puerto Rico’s history, people, and vibrancy. If you care about supporting local, building authentic connections, and walking away with a deeper understanding of this island — trust me, this is who you want to work with!!!
