Alpine Scenic delivers consistently outstanding experiences according to travelers, with guides like Steve, Joe, Cole, and Randy earning special praise for their driving expertise and deep knowledge of the Ouray region. These guides prioritize safety while navigating challenging mountain passes like Imogene, Corkscrew Gulch, and Hurricane Pass, with multiple reviewers noting how comfortable they felt even on narrow, high-altitude roads. The bucket seats in their vehicles get frequent mentions as a surprisingly important comfort feature during these multi-hour adventures. What really stands out is how well the company adapts to different needs. They've successfully hosted everything from standard sightseeing tours to a mountain elopement, adjusting routes and timing based on what guests want to experience. The guides clearly know the terrain inside and out, making weather-dependent decisions on the fly and finding off-route gems like hidden waterfalls. Booking is straightforward, and the staff keeps clients updated before tours. If you're looking to access spectacular high-country scenery that's impossible to reach in a regular vehicle, this operation has the experience and equipment to make it happen safely and memorably.
This company is first rate. Individual bucket seats that were well padded and comfortable. Last thing you’d want to do on these backroads is bounce around on a hard bench! The vehicle had blankets for all occupants and is equipped with a rain cover that can be installed in a jiffy, if needed. The scenery is magnificent with waterfalls and we hit the wildflower bloom just right. I’ve never seen so many columbines! Our guide was Steve, and he is excellent. In addition to his driving skill, he really knows his area history and can name just about all the wildflowers you see. One cool touch, Steve carries a photo drone with him and will take a video of you in front of a waterfall. We were very pleased with our 4 hour adventure. Never felt at risk. This is the best tour of this type we have ever taken.
