A once-in-a-lifetime bear viewing experience that surpasses all expectations! An experience that will stay with us forever. We took the “Waterfall Creek Bear Viewing” trip with Wild Coast Excursions, and honestly, we're almost speechless. Everything was perfectly organized right from the meeting point at Ward Air in Juneau. The fact that we could borrow backpacks, rain gear, and rubber boots free of charge was a huge plus. The briefing before takeoff was clear, easy to understand, and immediately made us feel safe. The flight in the Super Beaver seaplane was already magical. During both the outbound and return flights, someone got to ride along in the co-pilot's seat—an absolutely unique moment! The landscape below us was breathtakingly beautiful, and when we even saw whales, our excitement was almost indescribable. But what awaited us at the location was simply indescribable. Several bears roamed the edge of the forest and the waterfall, giving us the feeling of being right in the middle of their world. There was always a bear nearby. One even came within about 7 meters of us. This moment was simultaneously awe-inspiring, emotional, and simply overwhelming. And yet, we felt safe every second. What made this experience so special was that it wasn't mass tourism. We were just a small group, which made everything even more intense, personal, and peaceful. Matt was an exceptional guide. His calm, respectful manner, his vast knowledge, and the way he explained everything to us were impressive. You could immediately sense how much he respected these animals and how important it was to him to share that feeling with us. What touched us most was the deep connection to nature that we felt that day. The respectful treatment of the bears and their environment, the tranquility, the mindfulness—all of this made this excursion truly special. It was precisely this attitude and the palpable love for nature that completely won us over and is the reason why we would choose this experience again in a heartbeat. The included lunch, which we were able to select in advance, was a wonderful bonus and perfectly rounded off the day. In short: We absolutely loved this trip. It's more than worth every penny, a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you'll never forget. We would do it again in a second and can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!
