Captain Mike and his crew have built a strong reputation on the water in Key West, with most guests raving about the experience. Mike himself stands out as a knowledgeable, entertaining captain who genuinely invests in making sure everyone on the boat has a great time, teaching technique, sharing stories, and keeping the energy fun. The broader crew, including captains Phil, Chris, Tony, and Steve, earns consistent praise as well, with families in particular appreciating how patient and attentive everyone is, especially with first-timers and kids. A handful of reviews do flag some inconsistency, mostly around communication before trips and the occasional mismatch between what guests expected and what was offered on the water. These seem more like isolated friction points than a pattern, but if you have specific preferences around fishing style or target species, it's worth having that conversation clearly before you head out. The overwhelming majority of guests leave happy, often describing it as one of the best fishing experiences they've had in the Keys.
Recommended by our hotel. It was just me and my two sons, so we only had a Captain. He hustled and grind for the entire four hours. Made sure the boys each caught something. Filleted our catch on the dockside. Nothing but good things to say. There was some weather out there and he moved us around it masterfully (we agreed to get rained on). We did better than all of the other boats out there. Trust these guys, they know what they’re doing. Thanks for a bucketful of great memories
