Stargaze with a private astronomer and telescope in Grand Teton National Park
2.5 - 4 hours
3-13 people
Hotel pickup/drop-off, iPads
Explore the night sky on a private stargazing tour in Jackson Hole, with your astronomer guiding you through planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies. You’ll use a large telescope and the Star Walk app, with time to ask questions and take turns at the eyepiece.
Gratuity is not included (10–20% recommended). If the tour is canceled due to weather, there is no charge except a 6% nonrefundable online booking fee if you booked online.
Operator decides by 7 p.m. day of program to cancel due to cloudy, rainy, or snowy weather; no charge if they cancel due to bad weather, except a 6% nonrefundable online booking fee (if booked online). Full amount charged if you cancel/rebook within 48 hours (except emergencies). 5% administration fee if you cancel/rebook after booking.
Expect pick-up to fall between 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., depending on the season, your pick-up location, and the number of pick-ups that evening. You’ll receive your specific pick-up time on the day of your program.
Dress for cold nighttime temperatures. In summer, temperatures can drop below 40°F, so wear long pants, a warm jacket, closed-toe shoes with thick socks, and a hat. In winter, dress like you’re going skiing on a very cold day.
Many telescopes require a ladder to reach the eyepiece. If you or someone in your group can’t use a ladder, the operator can bring a telescope that does not require one (private programs only).
Grand Teton National Park
The guides here are the real draw. From astrophysicists like Ben, Mani, and Eons to enthusiastic educators like Sara, Lily, and Andy, the team consistently earns praise for making complex astronomy accessible and genuinely engaging. Reviewers highlight how guides field every question thoughtfully, adapt explanations for all ages, and keep the group comfortable through cold Wyoming nights with blankets, hand warmers, and warm-up breaks. Logistics are smooth and guest-focused. The company proactively reaches out when weather looks unfavorable, offering rebooking at no extra cost, and handles pickup, drop-off, and equipment without fuss. There's also a free weekly public session at Rendezvous Park for those who want a taste before committing to a private tour. Families, couples, and photography enthusiasts all seem to leave equally satisfied, which says a lot about the range of what's offered.
Sara and Kyle were amazing! They’re both incredibly knowledgeable about the stars, it was an incredible experience. Highly recommend!
