The guides here are genuinely the star of the show. Names like Tim, Justin, Brady, Robert, Josh, and Mike come up again and again, each praised for being knowledgeable, personable, and focused on making the experience feel personal rather than just another group tour. They take time to share geological history, point out the best photo spots, and make sure everyone from toddlers to seniors feels comfortable and safe throughout.
The tours themselves cover some spectacular terrain around Kanab, with Peekaboo Canyon and the Great Chamber being consistent crowd favorites. Sand surfing, sunset rides through the dunes, and UTV driving through canyon trails round out the offerings. Families with young kids have had great experiences here, and so have older travelers looking for something a little more laid-back. The flexibility with bookings, including last-minute changes, also seems to be a genuine strength rather than just a marketing promise.
Across the board, people leave feeling like they got more than they expected. The combination of stunning scenery and guides who clearly love what they do creates something that sticks with travelers long after the trip ends. If you are spending time in the Kanab area and debating whether to add a guided tour, the reviews make a pretty compelling case that this is worth prioritizing.

If I could give Expedition Kanab six stars, I would!
We spent a week exploring southern Utah and booked two UTV excursions with Expedition Kanab: Peekaboo Slot Canyon and the Great Chamber, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Both experiences were absolutely fantastic and, without question, were THE highlights of our entire vacation!
If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the Peekaboo Slot Canyon and Great Chamber excursion. Both destinations offered breathtaking scenery unlike anything we’d experienced before. Add the fun of navigating the trails in a UTV, and you have an adventure that’s hard to beat. In fact, this excursion alone would be reason enough for us to return to Kanab!
The North Rim excursion was equally impressive. The views were simply otherworldly, and the journey included stops to see ancient petroglyphs and pictographs. Dry conditions made for a dusty ride—dust found its way into every fiber of our clothing! But the scenery was worth it, and we thoroughly enjoyed the adventure.
On the return trip, we stopped at the famous Jacob Lake Inn for what just might be the world’s best cookies! Without Robert’s local knowledge, we would never have known about these incredible treats. Thanks again, Robert!
A great guide doesn’t just show you the sights—he introduces you to experiences you might never have discovered on your own.
Both excursions take you to extraordinary places not readily accessible by ordinary passenger vehicles. Traveling by UTV adds another dimension to the adventure.
A very special shout-out to our guide, Robert, who was absolutely outstanding!
Robert’s knowledge of the area’s geology was incredible, and he knew the trails like the back of his hand. He enthusiastically pointed out fascinating details we might otherwise have missed. From an unusual looping tree to the magnificent ponderosa pines, Robert helped us appreciate far more than the scenery.
He even gave us a wonderful demonstration of how sandstone forms, using nothing more than his water bottle!
Having qualified for senior passes to the national parks, we’re at an age where some of the steeper hikes, particularly at higher elevations, can be a bit challenging. Robert was exceptionally considerate, making sure the pace was comfortable and never too strenuous. His attentiveness let us enjoy every stop without feeling rushed.
He also knew exactly where the best photo opportunities were, frequently offering to stop and take pictures of our group.
And the fun wasn’t limited to sightseeing! After assessing our driving abilities, Robert chose a more challenging trail for our return trip, taking the excitement up another notch. It was an absolute blast!
The UTVs were comfortable, easy to operate, and felt safe and incredibly fun to drive. If you’re traveling as a couple, I highly recommend switching between driving and riding as a passenger. As a passenger, you can take in the surroundings, while driving offers an entirely different excitement. Both are worth having!
The scenery in southern Utah is awesome on its own, but when you’re fortunate enough to explore it with an exceptional guide like Robert, it becomes something truly spectacular and memorable.
Finally, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rhys, Stephanie (Stevie), Kyle, Quinn, and especially Robert. Every one of you contributed to making our time with Expedition Kanab something truly special. Your friendliness, professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality turned what could have been simply a couple of great excursions into one of the best experiences of our lifetime.
We’ve traveled quite a bit, and rarely encounter a team that leaves such a lasting impression. You all should be incredibly proud of what you’ve created at Expedition Kanab.
If you’re visiting Kanab, don’t hesitate to book with Expedition Kanab. You won’t regret it!
