    FAQs

Ages 8 and up are recommended.

Wear sturdy, comfortable closed-toe shoes or boots that are already broken in. For your Yellowstone hike, bring a warm hat, gloves, a waterproof/windproof jacket, sun protection, and bug spray, especially in June and July. Summer mornings can be as cold as 30°F, with afternoon highs in the 80s or higher.

Bring reusable bottles with 2–4 liters of capacity per person, depending on the hike’s length and your needs. Carry enough water for the entire hike; refills are available at the vehicle before and afterward.
