    4 hrs

    Ideal For

    Up to 10 people

    Highlights

Explore old-growth forest on a guided chanterelle hunt, whether you're foraging for the first time or already have experience. Your guide scouts the area in advance to focus the search rather than wander aimlessly. Mushroom finds vary, and large quantities aren't guaranteed.

    • Search across carpets of emerald moss for chanterelles
    • Look for other edible varieties, including lobster, bolete, coral, and cauliflower mushrooms
    • Let your guide capture photos of your discoveries along the way

    What's Included

    • Snacks
    • Whistle, high-visibility vest, bag, nitrile gloves, and hand warmers to keep
    • Mushrooms to take home, subject to what you find

    Important details

    • Complete the waiver and release before the experience; each person must complete their own.
    • Apply for, print, and carry your own free mushroom-foraging permit.
    • Wear hiking boots and bring water and lunch.
    • Download offline maps and a GPS tracking app, and practice using them beforehand. There is no cell reception after leaving the meeting point.
    • Drive in a caravan for 13 miles, approximately 25 minutes, to the foraging location. The final 4 miles are on an unpaved forest road.
    • Arrive on time. The group cannot wait for late arrivals; if you're late, you'll need to make your own way to the final location.

    Cancellation Policy

All sales are final. Private events can be rescheduled up to 5 days before the start, subject to availability. The hunt operates in light rain or shine. If canceled due to inclement weather, you'll receive a full refund. If canceled due to low attendance, you can reschedule, subject to availability, or receive a full refund.

    FAQs

In snowy conditions, an all-wheel-drive vehicle, SUV, or high-clearance vehicle helps you navigate the forest roads. Consider carpooling with others in your group from the meeting point.

No. You don't need a parking pass at the foraging location.

Consider waterproof outer layers for both your upper and lower body, a warm brimmed hat, and gloves. These are strongly recommended.
