Yes. Alaska fishing licenses are not included in the quoted rate. You need a 1-day sport fishing license, and if salmon fishing is included, you also need a king salmon stamp.
This outfit consistently delivers exceptional fishing and whale watching experiences, with crew members like Captain Ben, Mike, Cameron, and Casey earning praise across the board. Reviewers highlight the guides' deep knowledge of Southeast Alaska waters and their genuine investment in making sure guests have a memorable day. Whether it's the professional safety briefings, help landing fish, or spotting wildlife like breaching humpbacks and hunting orcas, the team clearly knows what they're doing. The operation shines with thoughtful details that matter to cruise passengers: pickup and dropoff right at the ship, assistance with fishing licenses, and fish processing all handled seamlessly. Groups consistently report catching their limits of salmon and halibut, with many saying this was the highlight of their Alaska trip. The flexibility stands out too. Several reviewers mentioned booking longer trips that paid off with incredible sightings and more time on the water. One reviewer mentioned a disappointing experience where their halibut trip turned into salmon trolling without any fish caught, but this appears to be an isolated incident in an otherwise stellar track record.
We had an amazing time on our whale watching tour. Our guide told us most people don't choose 4 hours just to whale watch, but the extra time gave us the freedom to go out of the way and see some amazing sights. Sea lions, orcas hunting, mom and baby humpbacks, two humpbacks breeching within 100 yards of our boat, and of course the beautiful terrain! I can't recommend it highly enough, and you won't regret springing for the extra time.
