Sailing on Puget Sound or Lake Union with captains like Russ, Dylan, Amy, and Mark has become a genuine Seattle bucket list experience for a lot of people. Reviewers consistently highlight how personable and knowledgeable the captains are, whether they're pointing out floating homes and maritime history on Lake Union or finding the perfect angle for photos on a sunset sail. One reviewer even spotted a humpback whale, which isn't something you can plan for, but speaks to the magic that seems to come with these trips. The format is intimate and private, with the captain right there in the cockpit alongside guests, which most people seem to love. It creates a relaxed, social atmosphere rather than a formal tour. Worth keeping in mind if you prefer more separation, but the vast majority of reviewers found it added to the experience. Weather is always a wildcard on the water, but even on a rainy day, one group ended up sailing into a rainbow, so flexibility and a good attitude go a long way here.
As someone who doesn’t go on a boat often or really hasn’t had the opportunities to get on a boat, this experience by far is a memory I won’t forget. I had the amazing experience this past week to go with my family. Although it wasn’t large boat, it was really comfortable with 7 adults in the boat. The Captian, Russ, was super knowledgeable and a great guide during our trip. He explained how to get around the boat, where things are and what to look for! If you are a Seattleite or from out of state, this is a great boat experience. We were out for around 3 hours, were allowed to bring food, and drinks onto the boat.
