Important details
- May 23 through September 1, rentals are walk-up only
- Arrive on time; rentals more than 30 minutes late are canceled and boats reassigned
- Ages 18+ only to book; bring an original photo ID for each renter age 18+ as copies are not accepted
- Minors require a legal parent or guardian in the party
- A day-use entry reservation is required for the state park; the entrance fee is collected at booking
- Wear a fastened life jacket and remain in your boat throughout the rental
- Do not swim, land at other beaches including French Landing, board other boats, or exchange passengers
- Leave pets and alcohol outside the state park and off the vessels
- Expect a late-return charge of $25 plus $1 per minute, plus tax
Cancellation Policy
Cancel at least 24 hours before start for a full refund. No refund for no-shows. Full refund if the operator cancels before departure due to weather.

Bring sunscreen, a hat, and binoculars if you enjoy birding. Wear footwear that can get wet, as you will launch your canoe rental from a beach.
Rentals depart rain or shine, so bring a poncho or raincoat. Launches stop when lightning is reported within 5 miles of the launch area and resume after it has been outside that radius for 30 minutes.
