Fish Resurrection Bay with a local crew and premium tackle

Fishing gear, fish cleaning
Explore Resurrection Bay aboard a 28-foot closed-wheelhouse sportfishing boat. Fish with the captain and crew using semi-light tackle, with plans shaped by seasonal rules and conditions.
We pick you up from Orca Island Yurts around 7:20 am or 1:20 pm. As we ease out of the cove, the crew will check fishing licenses, cover essential safety info, and outline the game plan. The run to the fishing grounds typically takes 20–45 minutes, depending on where the bite is best.
Once we’re on the spot, you’ll spend the trip trolling or jigging for salmon and rockfish while taking in gorgeous scenery and frequent wildlife sightings—equal parts thrill and chill. On the way back, the deckhand begins cleaning your catch and will finish in the slip with the captain if there’s a big haul.
Cancel 30+ days before for a 90% refund; 15–29 days for 75%; 0–14 days for 50% only if your trip is rebooked. A $10 cancellation fee applies. Full refund if the operator cancels due to weather; rain does not qualify.
Fish for species that are in season and legal to harvest. Before June 20, the trip targets rockfish only; after June 20, it targets rockfish and silver salmon. King salmon are not specifically targeted.
An Alaska fishing license is required for ages 16+ and must be printed and in hand before departure. A King Salmon Stamp is required to retain a king salmon; without one, release any king salmon you catch.
Do not bring bananas or banana-related products, hard alcohol, or marijuana aboard. Beer and wine are allowed, but intoxication is not tolerated.
Seward Small Boat Harbor
Booked a fishing charter with captain Judd and Stonie. The weather was less than desirable for fishing, let alone leaving the bay. Judd is a skilled captain and even better at finding kings. 8 guys on a boat was a little tight, but it works if you pay attention. It took a minute but once we were on tge fish, everyone took turns reeling in silvers and kings. My only disappointment is how the fish got divided at the end. I caught 4 silvers and my uncle caught two of the biggest kings. Somehow I only got 3 fish worth of fillers and they swapped his second biggest catch with the other groups small one. No big deal. I had also read that captain Jack's would be open to pack and flash freeze our catch. We ended up having to use J-dock. They informed us that they do not flash freeze so we had to ship the fish rather than check it on our flight home. All in all great crew, and the half day is totally worth it. Just know if its bad weather, you won't get to fish for rockfish. Location note: don't follow Google maps, just pay for parking in the north lot and walk to the wood deck behind the shops near pier walkway "c". You'll see a small little office to check in at.
