Important details

• A park-entry reservation and entrance fee are required for every visitor, including Florida State Park passholders, pedestrians, and cyclists
• Arrive with a signed waiver and valid ID
• Ages 3+ only; participants under 12 must share a vessel with a parent or guardian
• Service animals only; other animals are not allowed in kayaks
• No alcoholic beverages are allowed
• Keep food and nonalcoholic drinks in reusable containers; disposable containers are prohibited
• Keep music and noise to a minimum
• Children under 6 must wear a USCG-approved life jacket while the vessel is underway
• Requires independent operation of a watercraft, including paddling with and against current, entering and exiting, and maneuvering around other vessels
• Requires tolerating 72-degree water, bright sunlight, insects, and water conditions for 2 hours or more
• Requires the ability to survive in the water after a fall or capsize, independently or with a companion's assistance
• Requires seated balance and maneuvering independently, with a companion's assistance, or with adaptive equipment
